How to do it
Stand tall facing along a wall and rest one hand on it for balance. Swing the outside leg forward and backward in a smooth, controlled arc, letting the range build with each rep. Keep your torso upright and your standing leg stable throughout.
- 1A loosening through the hip as the leg swings front to back
- 2Your hip flexors and hamstrings working through their range
- 3A tall, steady torso with the wall supporting your balance
Common mistakes
- Leaning or twisting your torso to throw the leg higher
- Swinging so hard you yank past a comfortable range early on
- Letting your standing knee wobble or cave
Muscles worked
The wall supported front leg swing mainly works the hip flexors, with the hamstrings, lower abs, and glutes assisting.
