How to do it
Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart. Push your hips back and bend your knees to lower until your thighs are at least parallel to the ground, keeping your chest up. Drive through your heels to return to standing.
- 1Feel your quad, glute, and hamstrings of the working leg as you lower and rise
- 2Use the TRX strap for balance, not to pull yourself up
- 3Keep your knee aligned over your toes and chest lifted
Common mistakes
- Avoid collapsing at the knee or letting it move inward
- Don't use momentum or rely heavily on the straps
- Avoid rounding your back; hinge slightly at the hips to sit back
Muscles worked
The trx single leg squat mainly works the quads and glutes, with the hamstrings, lower back, and calves assisting.
