How to do it

Stand with the weight in your hands and palms facing up. Keeping your elbows close to your sides, bend your elbows to lift the weight toward your shoulders. Slowly lower the weight back to the starting position.

  1. 1Lean back with your palms facing up and curl your body toward the handles by bending your elbows, feeling your biceps contract
  2. 2Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels and your elbows high
  3. 3Lower yourself slowly to feel the eccentric contraction in your arms

Common mistakes

  • Don't let your hips drop or your body sag during the curl
  • Avoid swinging your arms or letting your elbows fall below shoulder level
  • Don't grip the handles excessively tight, maintain relaxed wrists
