How to do it
From a standing or athletic stance, sweep one arm back behind you in a quick kickback motion, then return to the front and repeat with the other arm. Keep the movement dynamic and rhythmic to warm up the shoulders and triceps.
- 1Your triceps and rear shoulder extending the arm back
- 2A smooth swing through the full range of each arm
- 3Your core staying braced to keep your torso steady
Common mistakes
- Twisting your torso to throw the arm back
- Rounding your shoulders forward as you swing
- Rushing so fast you lose control of the motion
Muscles worked
The swipe kickback mainly works the triceps, with the forearms and rear delts assisting.
