How to do it
Stand tall and flow through three movements: lift one leg straight in front and reach the opposite hand across to tap the toe, return to standing, then bend laterally to the side. Move continuously and switch sides, using the sequence to warm the hips, core, and side body.
- 1Your core and hip flexor working to raise and control the leg
- 2An oblique stretch and contraction as you bend to the side
- 3Balance through the standing leg as you reach across
Common mistakes
- Do not round your back hard to reach the toe
- Avoid swinging the leg with momentum instead of lifting it
- Do not lean so far in the side bend that you lose balance
