How to do it

Stand facing a wall and place both hands on it for support, with one foot forward and the other stretched back. Press the back heel into the floor and lean toward the wall until you feel a stretch along the calf, then hold.

  2. 2Keep your back knee straight and heel pressed down
  3. 3Lean into the wall to deepen the stretch slowly

Common mistakes

  • Don't bounce or force the heel down
  • Avoid twisting your back foot outward
  • Don't arch your lower back; drive from the ankle
