How to do it
Stand on one leg with a tall posture and a soft bend in the standing knee. Lift the free leg out to the side, lower it, then raise it straight to the front without touching down, flowing between the side and front raise while keeping your balance. Move slowly and control each position.
- 1The outside of your hip working on the side raise
- 2The front of your hip and thigh lifting on the front raise
- 3Your standing leg and core fighting to stay steady
Common mistakes
- Don't lean your torso away to swing the leg up
- Avoid letting the standing knee buckle inward
- Don't rush; let balance dictate the pace
