How to do it

Stand on one leg with a slight knee bend. Push off laterally and leap to the opposite side, landing softly on the other foot and lightly tapping your trailing foot or the floor behind you for balance. Push off again to bound back and forth in a skating motion.

  1. 1Glutes and outer hip powering each sideways leap
  2. 2A soft landing with the knee bending to absorb impact
  3. 3Core staying braced to control balance on each tap

Common mistakes

  • Letting your landing knee collapse inward
  • Landing on a locked or stiff leg
  • Rushing so each hop loses control
