How to do it

Stand on one leg with the other foot lifted off the floor, knee slightly bent on the standing leg. Fix your gaze on a point ahead and hold the balance for the set time, keeping your hips level. Switch legs and repeat.

  1. 1Grip the floor with your foot and feel your ankle and calf stabilize
  2. 2Keep your hips level and your standing glute lightly engaged
  3. 3Brace your core to stop your torso from swaying

Common mistakes

  • Don't let your standing hip drop or shoot out to the side
  • Avoid locking the standing knee rigidly
  • Don't hold your breath; breathe steadily as you balance
