How to do it

Lie on your back with one foot flat on the ground and the other knee pulled toward your chest. Push through your planted heel to lift your hips, squeezing your glute at the top while keeping the raised knee hugged in, then lower with control.

  1. 1Drive through your planted heel and squeeze the working glute at the top
  2. 2Keep your hips level and core braced so you don't tip to one side
  3. 3Hold the raised knee tight to your chest to keep that hip flexed

Common mistakes

  • Don't let your hips sag or rotate toward the planted side
  • Avoid pushing through your toes; keep the weight in your heel
  • Don't use momentum or arch your lower back to lift higher
