How to do it
Lie on your back with your left foot flat on the floor and your right leg extended straight out, held in line with your left thigh. Push through your left heel to lift your hips, keeping the right leg straight and your hips level. Squeeze your glute at the top, then lower under control.
- 1Drive through your left heel and feel your glute power the lift
- 2Keep your hips level so neither side drops
- 3Brace your core to hold the extended leg steady
Common mistakes
- Do not let the hip of the extended leg sag toward the floor
- Avoid arching your lower back to push higher
- Do not rush; raise and lower the hips with control
