How to do it
Stand facing a wall and place one hand flat on it above head height. Step back and sink your hips down and away from that arm until you feel a stretch run from your armpit down your side. Keep the arm long and hold, breathing into the stretch.
- 1A gentle stretch along your lat from armpit to lower back
- 2Your hips sinking away to deepen the pull down your side
- 3The muscle relaxing as you breathe and lean in
Common mistakes
- Twisting your torso or over-arching to force it
- Letting your shoulder roll forward; keep it rotated out
- Pushing into pain; this should stay comfortable
