How to do it
Stand in a low athletic stance with knees slightly bent and feet shoulder-width apart. Shuffle laterally by stepping with the lead foot and bringing the trailing foot to meet it, swinging your arms across your body in time with each step. Stay low, keep your hips and shoulders square, and shuffle in both directions evenly.
- 1Drive through your hips and squeeze your glutes on each push-off
- 2Stay low in the stance so the legs do the work
- 3Let the arm swing stay relaxed and rhythmic
Common mistakes
- Do not let your knees cave inward as you push off
- Do not stand tall between steps; keep the hips loaded
- Do not rely on momentum; stay controlled and balanced
Muscles worked
