How to do it
Take two or three quick lateral shuffle steps to one side, then plant and lift the trailing leg out to the side at the end. Reverse direction and repeat, staying low in an athletic stance the whole time. Keep your chest up and weight in your heels.
- 1Feel your outer hips and glutes driving each shuffle and side lift
- 2Stay low and athletic with your weight in your heels
- 3Lift the leg straight out to the side, not forward
Common mistakes
- Don't stand upright between shuffles; keep the hips loaded
- Avoid letting the knees cave inward as you push off
- Don't swing the leg with momentum; lift it under control
