How to do it
Lie on your side with your bottom arm wrapped across your chest and your top hand planted flat on the floor in front of your lower shoulder. Push your torso up off the ground by straightening the top arm, then lower back down under control.
- 1Triceps of the working arm driving you up off the floor
- 2Tension stay in the upper arm as you control the descent
- 3Core bracing to keep your torso stacked and not rolling
Common mistakes
- Pushing through the floor with your bottom arm to cheat the rep
- Letting your hips twist toward the floor as you press
- Bouncing off the bottom instead of controlling the lower
