How to do it
Lie on your left side with your left leg straight and your right leg crossed over in front, foot flat on the floor. Keeping your bottom (left) leg straight, lift it up toward the ceiling as high as you can, then lower under control. Keep your hips stacked and avoid rolling back.
- 1Feel the inner thigh of your bottom leg lift the weight
- 2Keep your hips stacked and your torso braced
- 3Lower the leg slowly rather than dropping it
Common mistakes
- Do not roll your hips backward to cheat the lift
- Avoid swinging the leg with momentum
- Do not let your torso collapse toward the floor
