How to do it
Take a few quick lateral shuffle steps in one direction, staying low and athletic. At the end of the shuffle, plant your outside foot and lift the opposite leg out to the side, squeezing your hip. Shuffle back the other way and repeat the leg lift on the other side.
- 1Feel your outer hip and glute as you lift the leg to the side
- 2Stay low and loaded through your legs during the shuffle
- 3Keep your chest up and core braced for balance on the lift
Common mistakes
- Don't stand fully upright during the shuffle
- Avoid leaning your torso to lift the leg higher
- Don't let your steps cross over each other
