How to do it
Sit tall with your hands resting on your thighs and shoulders relaxed. Slowly tilt your head back to look up toward the ceiling, gently extending through your neck and upper back, then return to a neutral gaze. Move within a comfortable, pain-free range.
- 1A gentle stretch along the front of your neck and throat as you look up
- 2Your upper back lengthening into a slight extension
- 3Shoulders staying relaxed and down throughout
Common mistakes
- Don't crank your head back hard or force the range
- Avoid shrugging your shoulders toward your ears
- Don't hold your breath; breathe steadily through the stretch
Muscles worked
