How to do it

Lie face down with a massage ball positioned on the front of your thigh, just above the knee or up toward the hip. Support yourself on your forearms and slowly roll the ball along the quad, pausing on tight spots to release the rectus femoris.

  1. 1A deep release down the front of your thigh
  2. 2Firm pressure that eases as you hold each spot
  3. 3Your hip flexor and quad letting go of tension

Common mistakes

  • Do not roll directly over the kneecap
  • Avoid pressing so hard it sends sharp pain
