How to do it

Lie face down on an incline bench with your hips at the top edge and legs hanging down, a resistance band looped around your ankles and anchored low beneath you. Grip the bench for support, then contract your glutes and hamstrings to raise your legs behind you against the band until they reach body level. Pause, then lower under control.

  1. 1Glutes and hamstrings lifting your legs against the band
  2. 2Core braced so the movement comes from your hips, not a back swing
  3. 3A squeeze in your glutes at the top of each rep

Common mistakes

  • Hyperextending or arching your lower back at the top
  • Using momentum to fling your legs up
  • Letting the band snap your legs back down without control
