How to do it
Stand inside a plate-loaded leverage Romanian deadlift machine, gripping the handles with the load at your hips and knees softly bent. Hinge at the hips to lower the handles in front of you while keeping your back flat, feeling the stretch in your hamstrings, then return to standing by squeezing your glutes and hamstrings.
- 1A stretch through your hamstrings as you hinge
- 2Soft knees and a flat back the whole way down
- 3Glutes squeezing to finish each rep at the top
Common mistakes
- Rounding your upper back or shoulders
- Shifting your weight forward onto your toes
- Hyperextending your hips at the top
Muscles worked
The leverage machine rdl mainly works the hamstrings and glutes, with the lower back, calves, and quads assisting.
