How to do it

Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart. Push your hips back and bend your knees to lower until your thighs are at least parallel to the ground, keeping your chest up. Drive through your heels to return to standing.

  1. 1Lower the bar to the pins and pause, maintaining tension in your legs
  2. 2Drive up using your quads and glutes while keeping your torso upright
  3. 3Keep your core braced and knees tracking over your toes

Common mistakes

  • Don't bounce off the pins, come to a dead stop
  • Avoid relaxing your core at the bottom
  • Don't allow your knees to cave inward as you drive up

Muscles worked
