How to do it
Sit or stand and cross one foot slightly behind you. Turn the sole of that foot inward and gently press the outer edge toward the floor until you feel a stretch along the outside of your lower leg and ankle. Hold and breathe, then switch sides.
- 1Feel a stretch along the outer edge of your lower leg and ankle
- 2Roll the sole gently inward to deepen the stretch
- 3Keep the movement slow and let the tension ease as you hold
Common mistakes
- Do not force the ankle past a comfortable range
- Avoid bouncing into the stretch
- Do not put painful pressure on the outside of the ankle
