How to do it
Sit on the floor holding a medicine ball at your chest, lean back slightly, and lift your feet off the ground with knees bent. Keeping your torso braced, rotate the ball from one side to the other, tapping it down near your hip each time. Keep the legs raised and the chest tall throughout.
- 1Feel your obliques drive the rotation from side to side
- 2Keep your spine tall and feet lifted so the core stays loaded
- 3Control each twist and feel constant tension across the midsection
Common mistakes
- Do not let your arms swing the ball; rotate from the torso
- Avoid rounding your back or dropping the feet to the floor
- Do not rush; slow the tempo to keep control
