How to do it
Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and arms relaxed. March in place by lifting one knee toward hip height, then setting it down as you raise the other knee, swinging your arms naturally in opposition. Keep a steady, controlled rhythm.
- 1Feel your hip flexors lift each knee and your core stay tall
- 2Stay light on the balls of your feet as you step
- 3Swing your arms naturally in time with your legs
Common mistakes
- Do not slump or lean back as you march
- Avoid stomping; land softly each step
- Do not let your knees drift inward
Muscles worked
The marching on spot mainly works the hip flexors, with the lower abs, quads, and calves assisting.
