How to do it

Stand tall with feet hip-width apart. Step forward with one leg and lower your body until both knees are bent at 90 degrees. Push through the front heel to return to the starting position and repeat on the other side.

  1. 1Feel your quads and glutes working as you step forward or backward under guided bar path
  2. 2Keep your torso upright and core engaged for balance
  3. 3Press through your front heel and squeeze your glutes

Common mistakes

  • Avoid allowing the bar to dictate your stride; set a comfortable step length
  • Don't let your knee travel too far past your toes
  • Avoid slamming your back knee into the ground; lower with control
