How to do it
Sit in the vertical leg press with your back flat against the pad and feet shoulder-width on the platform directly above you. Unlock the safety, lower the platform by bending your knees toward your chest, then press straight up through your heels and return under control.
- 1Your quads, glutes, and hamstrings pushing the platform up
- 2Lower back pressed into the pad and knees tracking over toes
- 3An even press through the whole foot and a controlled return
Common mistakes
- Locking out the knees or letting them cave inward
- Letting your hips roll off the pad at the bottom
- Loading so heavy you cut the range of motion short
Muscles worked
The lever vertical leg press mainly works the quads and glutes, with the hamstrings and calves assisting.
