How to do it
Sit in the rotary torso machine with the pad against your upper body and your hips locked in. Rotate your torso to one side by driving with your obliques, then return under control and repeat.
- 1Your obliques generating the rotation through your midsection
- 2Your hips and lower body staying locked in place
- 3Controlled tension through your core on the return
Common mistakes
- Letting your hips or knees rotate with the torso
- Yanking the weight around with momentum
- Over-rotating past a comfortable range
