How to do it
Sit in the lever fly machine with your back flat against the pad and grip the handles at chest height, elbows slightly bent. Press the handles together in front of your chest in a smooth arc, then control them back until you feel a stretch across the chest.
- 1A squeeze across the middle of your chest as the handles meet
- 2Your back pinned to the pad and elbows fixed in a slight bend
- 3A controlled stretch through the pecs at the open position
Common mistakes
- Do not bend or straighten your elbows to push the weight
- Avoid letting your shoulders shrug up toward your ears
- Do not slam the handles together or let them snap back
Muscles worked
The lever seated fly mainly works the mid chest, with the upper chest, front delts, lower chest, and internal rotators assisting.
