How to do it
Sit at the leverage crunch machine with your chest against the pad and grip the handles. Crunch forward by flexing your trunk to bring your ribs toward your hips, then return under control.
- 1Feel your abs shorten as you crunch your ribs toward your hips
- 2Round your upper back into the movement rather than hinging at the hips
- 3Control the return and keep tension on your abs throughout
Common mistakes
- Do not pull with your arms or hips; drive the crunch with your abs
- Avoid jerking the weight or using momentum
- Do not let the weight pull your torso back up too fast
Muscles worked
