How to do it
Sit at the leverage preacher machine with the backs of your upper arms on the pad and grip the handle. Curl the handle toward you by flexing your elbows, squeeze your biceps, then lower under control.
- 1Feel an isolated contraction in your biceps as you curl the handle up
- 2Lower slowly to feel a stretch at the bottom without losing tension
- 3Keep your upper arms pinned to the pad through a full range
Common mistakes
- Do not lift your elbows off the pad or swing your body
- Avoid cutting the range short; extend nearly fully each rep
- Do not let your wrists bend back excessively
Muscles worked
The lever preacher curl mainly works the biceps, with the forearms assisting.
