How to do it
Position yourself on the linear hack squat machine with your shoulders under the pads and back flat against the back rest. Lower by bending your knees until your thighs are about parallel, then drive through your heels along the machine's track to push back up without locking out hard.
- 1Quads and glutes driving against the platform
- 2Back flat against the pad and head neutral
- 3Heels driving as you extend nearly all the way
Common mistakes
- Letting your knees cave in; track them over your toes
- Rounding your back or lifting your hips off the pad
- Bouncing out of the bottom instead of controlling it
