How to do it
Sit on the leverage leg extension machine with your back against the pad and the roller against the front of your ankles. Grip the side handles, then extend your knees to lift the pad until your legs are nearly straight, and lower under control.
- 1Feel your quadriceps contract strongly as you extend your knees
- 2Pause at the top and squeeze, then lower slowly to feel a stretch
- 3Keep your back against the pad and toes relaxed
Common mistakes
- Do not lock your knees abruptly at the top
- Avoid leaning back or arching your lower back
- Do not swing the weight up; focus on the contraction
