How to do it

Sit in the incline lever fly machine with your back flat against the pad and grip the handles with a slight bend in your elbows. Squeeze your chest to bring the handles together out in front of and above your chest in a wide arc. Pause at the top, then slowly let the handles travel back out until you feel a stretch across the chest.

  1. 1The upper chest squeezing as the handles come together
  2. 2A controlled stretch across the chest as the handles travel back
  3. 3Your back flat against the pad and shoulders down

Common mistakes

  • Don't bend and straighten your elbows like a press
  • Avoid letting the handles fly back too far or too fast
  • Don't shrug your shoulders up toward your ears
