How to do it
Stand on the machine platform with a wide stance and toes turned out, the loaded belt hanging from your hips. Push your hips back and bend your knees to lower until your thighs are at least parallel, keeping your chest up. Drive through your heels and outer feet to stand back up.
- 1Feel your inner thighs and glutes load up as you sit into the wide stance
- 2Keep your torso upright with no load on your spine
- 3Press through your heels and squeeze your glutes hard at the top
Common mistakes
- Avoid letting your knees cave inward; drive them out over your toes
- Do not let your chest collapse forward as you descend
- Avoid bouncing at the bottom; control both directions
