How to do it

Sit at the biceps curl machine with the back of your upper arms resting on the pad and grip one handle in each hand. Curl one arm up toward your shoulder by contracting the biceps, lower it under control, then repeat on the other arm, alternating each rep.

  1. 1Feel your biceps contract as you curl one handle up toward your shoulder
  2. 2Keep your upper arms pinned to the pad and wrists neutral
  3. 3Lower each arm slowly and fully before curling the other

Common mistakes

  • Don't swing your torso or lift your elbows off the pad
  • Avoid using momentum to fling the handle up
  • Don't cut the range short at the bottom; fully extend each arm
