How to do it
Move into the stretch position slowly until you feel a gentle pull on the target muscle. Hold the stretch while breathing deeply, avoiding any bouncing or pain.
- 1Feel a gentle stretch along your lat from your armpit to your lower back
- 2Keep your core engaged and hips square to feel the stretch deep into your side
- 3Breathe deeply and allow the muscles to relax as you sink into the wall
Common mistakes
- Avoid twisting your torso or over-arching your back to force the stretch
- Don't let your shoulder roll forward; keep shoulder externally rotated
- Avoid pushing into pain; this stretch should be comfortable
