How to do it

Move into the stretch position slowly until you feel a gentle pull on the target muscle. Hold the stretch while breathing deeply, avoiding any bouncing or pain.

  1. 1Feel a gentle stretch along your lat from your armpit to your lower back
  2. 2Keep your core engaged and hips square to feel the stretch deep into your side
  3. 3Breathe deeply and allow the muscles to relax as you sink into the wall

Common mistakes

  • Avoid twisting your torso or over-arching your back to force the stretch
  • Don't let your shoulder roll forward; keep shoulder externally rotated
  • Avoid pushing into pain; this stretch should be comfortable
