How to do it
Stand holding a kettlebell and place most of your weight on one leg, with the other foot a few inches back on its toes as a kickstand for balance. Hinge at the hips to lower the bell down your working leg, then drive through that heel to stand and squeeze the glute.
- 1Working-leg hamstring and glute loading as you hinge down
- 2Back foot acting only as a light kickstand, not taking the load
- 3Hips staying square as you drive back to standing
Common mistakes
- Putting too much weight on the kickstand foot
- Rounding the back or letting the hips rotate open
- Bending the working knee into a squat instead of hinging
