How to do it
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart holding a kettlebell with both hands. Hinge at the hips to swing the kettlebell back between your legs, then snap your hips forward to drive it up and around in a wide arc overhead before guiding it back down on the next hinge.
- 1Feel your hips and glutes power the bell through the full arc
- 2Keep your core braced and shoulders packed as you hinge and snap
- 3Let your hips, not your arms, throw the kettlebell around
Common mistakes
- Do not squat the movement; drive it from the hip hinge
- Avoid yanking with your arms or shoulders to lift the bell
- Do not overarch your back at the top; finish at a tall neutral
