How to do it

Stand tall with your core braced. Kick one leg forward and up while twisting your torso so the opposite hand reaches toward the kicking foot, then return and switch sides. Keep the pace lively and stay balanced through each kick.

  1. 1Feel your obliques fire as you twist toward the kick
  2. 2Snap the leg up under control using your hip flexors
  3. 3Stay tall and balanced on the standing leg

Common mistakes

  • Do not round your back to reach the foot
  • Avoid swinging the leg with no control
  • Do not lose your balance by rushing the twist

Muscles worked
