How to do it
Sit or kneel and gently point and flex one foot, then ease into a stretch by pressing the top of the foot toward the floor and pulling the toes back. Hold each position to open up the ankle and foot.
- 1Feel a stretch across the top of your foot and the back of your ankle
- 2Move slowly through point and flex to work the full ankle range
- 3Keep the rest of your leg relaxed as you ease into each position
Common mistakes
- Don't force the foot past a comfortable stretch
- Avoid bouncing; hold each position steadily
- Don't hold through any sharp pain in the joint
