How to do it

Hold an EZ bar with an underhand grip on the angled portions and stand over it. Hinge at the hips to deadlift the bar up to your thighs, then curl it toward your shoulders before reversing the curl and lowering the bar back to the floor. The EZ bar eases wrist strain on the curl.

  1. 1Feel your glutes and hamstrings drive the deadlift and your biceps work
  2. 2the curl
  3. 3Keep your back flat and chest up through the hinge
  4. 4Brace the core to keep the spine solid from floor to lockout

Common mistakes

  • Do not round your lower back as you lift the bar from the floor
  • Avoid swinging the bar up; curl it with control
  • Do not let the bar drift forward away from your legs on the deadlift
