How to do it
Sit at a preacher bench and rest the backs of your arms on the pad. Grip an EZ bar with a narrow, shoulder-in grip on the inner angles, then curl the bar toward you, squeezing your biceps, and lower it under control to a near-full stretch.
- 1Feel an isolated biceps contraction as you curl the EZ bar toward you
- 2Lower slowly to feel a stretch at the bottom without losing tension
- 3Keep your upper arms pinned flat to the pad through a full range
Common mistakes
- Don't lift your elbows off the pad or swing your body
- Avoid cutting the range short; extend almost fully at the bottom
- Don't let your wrists bend back; keep them neutral on the angled grip
