How to do it

Stand with the balls of your feet on an elevated surface and your heels hanging off the edge. Rise as high as possible onto your toes, pause at the top, then lower your heels below the platform for a full stretch. Hold a wall or rail lightly for balance if needed.

  1. 1Feel your calves contract hard as you press up onto your toes
  2. 2Pause and squeeze at the top of each rep
  3. 3Lower your heels below the platform to feel a deep stretch

Common mistakes

  • Don't bounce at the top or bottom
  • Avoid letting your ankles roll in or out
  • Don't lean forward or lock your knees; stay tall
