How to do it
Set two dumbbells on the floor shoulder-width apart and grip them with a neutral grip in a push-up position, body in a straight line. Lower your chest toward the dumbbells, letting the handles allow a deeper stretch, then press back up to lockout. Keep your core tight and hips level throughout.
- 1A deeper chest stretch at the bottom thanks to the dumbbell handles
- 2Your chest, shoulders, and triceps pressing you back up
- 3Your core and glutes holding a straight line
Common mistakes
- Letting your hips sag or your head drop forward
- Flaring your elbows out wide instead of keeping them around 45 degrees
- Letting the dumbbells wobble or roll under your grip
Muscles worked
The dumbbell reverse push-up mainly works the mid chest, with the triceps, upper chest, lower chest, forearms, upper abs, and front delts assisting.
