How to do it

Rest the back of your upper arm against a preacher pad or angled surface and hold a dumbbell with your arm extended. Curl the dumbbell up toward your shoulder with a controlled swing through the bottom, then lower under control to a full stretch.

  1. 1An isolated squeeze in the biceps at the top
  2. 2A full stretch in the biceps at the bottom
  3. 3Your upper arm staying pinned to the pad

Common mistakes

  • Lifting your elbow off the pad to cheat the weight
  • Cutting the stretch short at the bottom
  • Letting the swing take over the whole rep
