How to do it
Sit at a preacher bench and turn your torso so one upper arm rests flat along the pad. Hold a dumbbell with your palm up and curl it toward you, squeezing your biceps, then lower it slowly back to a near-full stretch.
- 1An isolated contraction in your biceps as you curl the dumbbell up
- 2A stretch at the bottom without losing tension
- 3Your upper arm staying pinned flat to the pad
Common mistakes
- Lifting your elbow off the pad or swinging your body
- Cutting the range short; extend nearly fully each rep
- Letting your wrist bend backward or forward
