How to do it
Kneel behind an exercise ball and drape one or both upper arms over it so the ball acts as your preacher pad. Hold a dumbbell with palm up and curl it toward your shoulder, squeezing your biceps, then lower slowly until your arm is nearly straight.
- 1Feel an isolated biceps contraction as you curl over the ball
- 2Lower slowly to feel a stretch at the bottom without losing tension
- 3Keep your upper arm pressed into the ball through the full range
Common mistakes
- Do not let the ball roll or your arm slide off the top
- Avoid cutting the range short; extend almost fully for a complete stretch
- Do not swing your body or bend your wrist to move the weight
