How to do it
Lie on an incline bench holding a dumbbell in each hand at your upper chest with palms facing in. Press the dumbbells up while rotating your wrists so your palms face forward at the top. Reverse the twist as you lower under control back to the start.
- 1Upper chest and triceps pressing the dumbbells up from the incline
- 2Wrists rotating smoothly so the palms turn forward at the top
- 3Shoulder blades pulled together and down to keep the chest engaged
Common mistakes
- Avoid flaring your elbows too wide; keep them at a comfortable angle
- Don't arch your back off the bench to push the weight up
- Don't rush the twist; keep the rotation controlled through the press
