How to do it

From standing, step one leg back and across behind the other into a curtsey lunge, bending both knees. As you sink, throw a cross punch with the opposite arm across your body, then rise and switch sides in a flowing rhythm.

  1. 1Feel your glutes and quads load in the curtsey lunge
  2. 2Rotate through your core as the cross punch travels across your body
  3. 3Stay balanced over your front foot as you sink and stand

Common mistakes

  • Do not let your front knee cave inward in the lunge
  • Avoid overreaching the back step and losing your balance
  • Do not throw the punch so hard you twist your lower back
